Winners of the #InspiredByOtherWorlds contest 2024
The winners of the Europlanet #InspiredByOtherWorlds Arts Contest have been announced.
Winner
First prize has been awarded to Reyla Rajiv, for her picture ‘Love you to the Moon and back’. She told us:
“I am Reyla. I am 6 years old. I love art and my favourite hobby is drawing and painting. I tell my stories through art. Another of my favourite hobby is space. Combining both of the favourite hobbies makes me happy and brim with joy.
When I heard of this contest theme, first thing that came to my mind was the quote my mom used to say ‘I love you to the Moon and back’. This art is how I visualise returning back from the Moon.
I love to see the moon from earth and one day I will see our beautiful Earth from the Moon, and when I return back, I will know what that quote really meant.”
Second Prize
Second Prize is awarded to Fanni Kereszturi for her collage ‘Small rocks from space, from dangerous asteroids’.
Fanni made this drawing using a black coloured sheet of paper, drawing smaller sub-topics on smaller white paper cut into pieces, and fixed with glue on the black paper. She finally drew the coloured parts and white stars. Fanni was inspired by stories told to her by her father about asteroids and missions to create a picture with “cute little asteroids and cute small lander spacecrafts on it … to show other children this is fun”.
Congratulations to Reyla and Fanni, who will received ESA gift cards as their prizes.
Here are also some of the other submissions selected by the judging panel as runners up.
