ESA Feasibility Studies

Closing date: 31 December 2025.

Feasibility Studies provide the preparatory framework to identify, analyse and define new potentially sustainable applications and services within the ESA Business Applications programme. They have to be compliant with the following requirements: they are user driven, they benefit from the integrated use of one or more space assets and the tenderer intends to pursue a demonstration project after successful completion of the feasibility study. Funded participation is open to any company and/or organisation, be it as group of users, public body or non-governmental organisation, residing in any of the ESA Member States that are participating to the programme as specified in the Letter of Invitation in EMITS. More info here

Space Systems for Safety and Security (4S) Applications

For 4S activities, companies registered in the following Member States will be eligible to apply: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Leveraging Standardalization in Digital Technologies (CSA)

Any legal entity, regardless of its place of establishment, including legal entities from non-associated third countries or international organisations (including Interantional European research organisations) is eligible to participate provided that the conditions laid down in the Horizon Europe Regulation have been met along with any other condition laid down in affiliated entities, associated partners, entities without legal personality and EU bodies. Competitiveness and innovation of the EU space sector depends on the availability of high educational standards and skilled professionals across a range of qualifications and the possibility for these professionals to upgrade and update their skills. This is also in the interest of the research and innovation community where the quality of the results and the impact of EU-funded research is a precursor of the future space sector. The EU also plays a role in the aligning of educational degrees to provide more opportunities and promote mobility of professionals and researchers across countries and sectors.

Feasibility Studies provide the clear potential to become e preparatory framework to identify, analyse and define new potentially sustainable applications and services within the ESA Business Applications programme. They have to be compliant witj the following requirements: they are user driven, they benefit from the utilisation of one or more space assets ans the tenderer intends to pursue a Demonstration Project after successful completion of the Feasibility Study. Demonstration Projects are dedicated to the implementation of pre-operational demonstration services within the ESA Business Applications programme, which therefore comply with the following requirements: they are user drive, (including user involment and contribution), they benefit from the utilisation of one or more space assets, with clear potential to become commercially viable in the post project phase.

ESA BIC Greece Permanent Open Call
