EPEC Annual Week

The EPEC Committee and EPEC Annual Week Local Organising Committee (LOC) are responsible for organising the EPEC Annual Week conference, which takes place in the spring of each year in a different location around Europe.

The EPEC Annual Week is an opportunity for the EPEC community to better get to know each other, to strengthen their connections with the international science community in a conference exclusively catered to early careers. The programme consists of science talks, invited speakers and a chance for our members to present their work in a low-stakes setting to build their confidence and scientific communication skills. Furthermore, the school brings together scientists from different career stages to provide a networking platform where science discussion and collaboration are stimulated via a series of group activities.

Participants must enrolled in a BSc, MSc course (or equivalent), be currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program in the field of planetary/space science or have obtained their Ph.D. qualification not earlier than seven years ago. Note that in order to apply to the training school you are NOT required to be a member of EPEC, although this is encouraged.

The 8th EPEC Annual Week will be held at the Laboratoire De Planétologie Et Géosciences (LPG), Nantes*, France from 25 – 29 May 2026.
The 7th EPEC Annual Week was held at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Berlin* from 19-23 May 2025.
The 6th EPEC Annual Week (hybrid) was held at the University of Padua and online from 25-28 June 2024.
The 5th EPEC Annual Week (hybrid) was held in Bratislava and online from 19-23 June 2023.
The 4th EPEC Annual Week was held online from 13-16 June 2022.
The 3rd EPEC Annual Week was held online from 7-11 June 2021.
The 2nd EPEC Annual Week was held at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, from 20-24 May 2019.
The 1st EPEC Annual Week was held at the International Space University (ISU) in Strasbourg from 11-15 June 2018.

*This year’s edition of Annual Week will be held in-person only as a significant proportion of the programme cannot be attended online (due to external visits, tours).

The EPEC Annual Week 2020 was cancelled due to Covid-19.
