These positions represent unique opportunities for Europlanet’s members to shape our growing community and make an impact on the field of planetary science. We encourage all our members to consider an involvement through these roles.

How the Executive Board is Elected

The Executive Board consists of the five officers of the Society (the President, two Vice-Presidents, the Secretary and the Treasurer) and six other members which are elected for a period of four years. The five officers serve as the directors of the Europlanet international non-profit association (AISBL). All Board members are elected through an electronic ballot of the Europlanet General Assembly (all Europlanet individual members and representatives of organisational members). Nominations are invited from the membership and are reviewed by an independent Nominations Committee.

How Committee Chairs are Appointed

Applications are open to all Europlanet members (and if you are not yet a member, consider joining as an individual or see if your organisation is already a member). After the deadline, the members of the relevant committees will elect their new chairs from the candidates. Their decisions will be endorsed by the Europlanet Executive Board.
