Europlanet Distributed Research and Technology Infrastructure (RTI) Facility – University of Kent Origins of Life Analytical Centre

The facility has three main equipment modules:
- Non-Targeted Analytical Orthogonal Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) – This equipment has a quaternary pump system with capability to select up to 8 Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) columns, including 2D capability and a Waters Photodiode Array (PDA) and Vion Ion Mobility Quadrupole Time-of-flight Mass Spectrometry (IMS QToF). The system offers the ability to analyse complex mixtures using an orthogonal LCMS screen.
- High resolution Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) to screen volatile components using a Waters TQ and Agilent 8890.
- Flow system capable of mimicking early earth conditions with integrated fraction column and real-time High Resolution LCMS monitoring using a Waters H-Class and RDa TOF..
