TA2 Facility 30 – Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (South Korea)

Average visit: 7 Days (including 10 specimens)

Features:

  • Sensitivity : better than 1 in 500 for Sr
  • Noise : less than 2 x 10-16 amps RMS on 5 second integration
  • Abundance Sensitivity : better than 2 ppm at mass 237 with respect to the 238U peak
  • Internal precision : Pb / 0.02, Sr / 0.001, Nd / 0.001
  • External precision : Pb / 0.05, Sr / 0.002, Nd / 0.001

Application:

  • Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd, U-Pb Geochronology of rock and mineral
  • Analysis of isotopic composition for Sr, Nd, Pb
  • Analysis using isotopic dilutions for Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd, Pb, U
  • Tracer studies for environmental samples
