TA2 Facility 26 – Sensitive High Resolution Ion MicroProbe / SHRIMP-IIe/MC (South Korea)

Average visit: 7 Days (3days + 1prep)

The first high-resolution secondary ion mass spectrometer in Korea (since 2008).

Features:

  • Primary Ion: Cs+,O2+,O2,O
  • Mass range: 6 – 300 amu
  • Detection Limit: ~1 ppm with 10,000 mass resolution and 50% transmission

Application:

  • U-Pb age dating of heavy minerals
  • zircon U-Pb geochronology and REE analysis
  • Trace element analysis
